At Above and Beyond Physiques we pride ourselves on helping all individuals regardless of their age, health or handicaps in order to accomplish a physique that is beyond any expectation. We believe that any good training program must start with a basic foundation in order to build the body as a whole. If you are trying to lose fat, you still need to build a strong physique in order to increase the amount of calories expended throughout the day. If you are trying to build muscle, then you need a strong foundation in orde to prevent injuries and progress into more advanced lifting techniques. We want our clients to strive to be above average. We help the client to understand that without focus and discipline they will never accomplish the results they deserve. The end result of any training program is a much healthier person with a higher self esteem, less physical ailments, greater functional movements that allow ease with daily activity and of course, an appealing physique.

about Us

Fred Smalls, IFBB Pro, graduated from Salisbury state university in 1997 with a degree in business with a concentration in finance and a minor in dance. As a collegiate athlete, Fred won the NCAA powerlifting championships two times as well as two world titles. He set the American record in squat and in 1997 had the world’s number one total among all 220-pound lifters under 24 years old.

Fred is CEO of Above & Beyond Physiques, a personal training and nutrition company that has been operating since 1997. Fred bought Golds Gym in 2000 and owned it through 2007 before partnering with the Training Center in 2008. Fred continues to operate Above & Beyond Physiques within the Training Center. During this time, Fred has helped over 10,000 clients reach levels of fitness beyond what they could have dreamed. He has won Delaware’s Trainer of the Year three times in 2001, 2002, and 2004.
